About The Role

Are you a motivated technical leader with a passion for managing and optimizing complex IT environments? Peraton is seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Manager to oversee the operations, strategy, and continuous improvement of a hybrid IT infrastructure supporting Linux, Mac, and Windows platforms. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with strategic leadership to ensure our IT systems and teams meet operational and organizational goals. What You Will Do:

 

As the Senior IT Manager, you will:

  • Lead and manage a diverse IT team responsible for maintaining a hybrid environment of Linux, Mac, and Windows platforms.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans for IT systems, operations, and processes aligned with organizational goals.
  • Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of operating systems, software, and hardware across platforms.
  • Implement and enforce IT security policies, ensuring compliance with industry standards and organizational requirements.
  • Act as a technical escalation point, providing hands-on support for complex IT issues across the environment.
  • Manage and optimize system and network performance, ensuring reliability and scalability.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing regular updates on IT performance, challenges, and strategic initiatives.
  • Oversee vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and procurement for IT services and hardware/software.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration, mentoring and empowering team members to grow and excel in their roles.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Experience: A minimum of 12 years of IT experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role, managing hybrid or multi-platform environments.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Strong proficiency with Linux (e.g., Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS)Mac OS, and Windows operating systems.
    • Experience in systems administration, network management, and IT security practices.
    • Hands-on knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
    • Familiarity with automation tools such as AnsiblePuppet, or Chef is a plus.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor IT teams, fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven project management experience, with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Clearance: Minimum Top Secret, SCI eligible

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in IT-related disciplines or business administration.
  • Certification in Linux, Windows, Mac, or IT leadership (e.g., Red Hat Certified Engineer, MCSE, or ITIL certification).
  • Experience supporting classified or secure environments.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

Details

Target Salary Range: $112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
