Program Overview
About The Role

Peraton is seeking a detail-oriented and innovative IT Tools Analyst to gather requirements, configure and enhance solutions using COTS software tools within a NIST 800-53 compliant enclave in support of the FAA BNATCS contract. This role is responsible for ensuring that software tools procured for project management, configuration management and visualization dashboards meet program requirements while maximizing operational efficiency. The IT Tools Analyst will collaborate with program stakeholders to define business requirements, identify appropriate COTS software tools and to configure software for deployment. Successful candidates will have a depth of experience with tools like Jira, Confluence, GitLab, GitHub, MS Project. In addition, they will possess the ability to deliver tangible solutions in a very fast paced and dynamic environment and be decisive while ensuring proper communication.

 

Key Responsibilities

Requirements Analysis & Administration

  • Work with stakeholders to translate business needs into tool capabilities.
  • Recommend solutions to maximize operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.
  • Work with IT teams to clarify requirements and generate tasks for work planning.
  • Configure, deploy, and monitor effectiveness of solutions using COTS software tools.

Security & Compliance

  • Ensure all tools and integrations comply with NIST 800-53 security controls.
  • Partner with cybersecurity teams to support audits, assessments, and accreditation as required.

Operations & Support

  • Provide support for functionality questions, process issues and escalations.
  • Maintain documentation of configurations, procedures, and compliance evidence.

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Work closely with program stakeholders and program IT infrastructure teams to align toolsets with organizational needs.
  • Provide guidance on tool usage, capabilities, and best practices.
  • Contribute to modernization initiatives and process lifecycle management.

Continuous Improvement

  • Assess technical gaps and process inefficiencies.
  • Recommend enhancements to improve tool effectiveness, performance, security, and compliance posture.
  • Host regular discussions with stakeholders about evolving needs and new tasks to be incorporated.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 12 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree, 10+ years of experience with a Master's degree, or 8+ years of experience with a PhD in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in business analysis as it pertains to the incorporation of software tools.
  • Familiarity working with NIST 800-53 security controls and compliance frameworks (FISMA, FedRAMP).
  • Hands-on experience with Atlassian, Microsoft, or git-based business productivity tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence, GitLab/GitHub, Power Platform, etc.).
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements
  • US Citizenship with the ability to obtain a Public Trust is a requirement for this role

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
  • Experience working in federal or regulated environments.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, CISSP, CISM, relevant cloud/DevOps, Agile, and Scaled Agile certifications are highly desirable.
  • Experience as a ScrumMaster or Release Train Engineer (RTE) working with IT or SW development teams is highly desirable and may be considered in lieu of business analysis experience.

Details

Target Salary Range: $112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
