Program Overview
About The Role

Peraton is seeking an experienced scientist to provide technical analysis and targeting support to identify and counter biological threats. This role requires a strong background in microbiology, molecular biology, and/or related fields, as well as experience with technical analysis and targeting. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills and a forward-leaning approach to successfully develop relationships across organizations.

 

The scientist will be responsible for the following, but not limited to:

  • Leverages scientific expertise combined with cyber tools, datasets, and methodologies to analyze all-source information, help drive targeting efforts, disrupt threats, and advance mission priorities.
  • Conducts technical research and analysis to reveal biological threats, expansion of development programs, program goals, and the proliferation of related technology.
  • Drafts reports that provide actionable insights to support decision-making.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including bioinformatics, targeting, and analytic, to provide technical expertise and support.

    • Biology
    • Biochemistry
    • Biological Agent Production
    • Biotechnology
    • Genetic Engineering/Editing Techniques
    • Microbiology
    • Molecular Biology
    • Synthetic Biology
Qualifications

Required

 

  • Must possess an active, TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
  • Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a related technical field; advanced degree (MS or PhD) preferred
  • 12+ years of experience with BS/BA
  • 5+ years of IC experience, with at least 2 years in a counterproliferation mission area
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to critically evaluate complex scientific information
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop clear and concise technical reports and briefings
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities and deadlines

Desired

 

  • Experience with bioinformatics tools and databases
  • Familiarity with the Tasking, Collection, Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination (TCPED) workflow
SCA / Union / Intern Rate or Range

Details

Target Salary Range: $135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
