About The Role

Peraton is currently seeking to hire a Senior Systems Engineering Support (Network) professional for its' Regional Cyber Center-Europe program

  • Location: On-site, Wiesbaden, Germany
  • Shift work - 2nd and/or 3rd shift possible

Responsibilities:

  • Lead network infrastructure engineering efforts at RCC-E, designing scalable and resilient LAN/WAN architectures that meet DoDIN standards and support mission-critical Army operations across the European theater
  • Configure and optimize routing and switching infrastructure including OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP protocols on Cisco and Juniper platforms, ensuring optimal path selection and network stability across NIPR and SIPR enclaves
  • Integrate network security controls into infrastructure designs, including firewall rule sets, network segmentation, VLAN architecture, and access control policies aligned with DISA STIGs and Army cybersecurity requirements
  • Develop and maintain detailed network engineering documentation including low-level design documents, as-built diagrams, IP address management records, and change request packages
  • Manage network change requests through the Army change management process, conducting impact assessments, coordinating maintenance windows, and ensuring rollback procedures are in place prior to implementation
  • Support DoDIN operations by providing Tier 3 engineering expertise for complex network incidents, coordinating with NETCOM and theater NOCs to restore services and implement permanent fixes

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree (STEM/Business Admin) and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or an associate’s degree and 10 years relevant experience; or an additional 4 years of experience in lieu of the degree requirement
    • Must meet TESA Qualifications
  • DoW 8140 - IT (Network Operations Specialist) - Advanced
  • Certifications — must hold one active certification (one of the following):
    • CCNP — any track; OR
    • JNCIS (Juniper Networks Certified Specialist)
  • Minimum of 4 years of specific experience with TCP/IP networks
  • 3 years of experience with U.S. military command/control systems or commercial LAN/WAN environments
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Active DoW Secret security clearance 

Preferred:

  • Deep expertise in Cisco IOS/IOS-XE and Juniper JunOS platform configuration and troubleshooting
  • Experience with MPLS, QoS, and traffic engineering in large enterprise or service provider environments
  • Familiarity with network virtualization technologies including VRF, VXLAN, and overlay networking
  • Knowledge of network security architecture including Cisco ISE, 802.1X NAC, and network access control frameworks
  • Experience with network automation tools such as Ansible, Python (netmiko/NAPALM), or Cisco DNA Center
  • Familiarity with DISA network STIG requirements and DoD network hardening standards
  • Experience with SD-WAN design and deployment in distributed enterprise environments
  • Knowledge of IPv6 transition planning and dual-stack implementation in DoD networks

 

 

Details

Target Salary Range: $104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
