About The Role

A mid-level ServiceNow Service Catalog Developer focuses on designing, building, and maintaining complex catalog items, record producers, and workflows within the ServiceNow platform. Key responsibilities include creating catalog variables, variable sets, Flow Designer automation, and managing Service Portal integration, typically requiring 3-5 years of experience in JavaScript, API integrations, and catalog UI policies.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and deploy Catalog Items, Order Guides, and Record Producers within the ServiceNow Service Catalog.
  • Configure and maintain complex workflows and Flow Designer flows to automate approvals, task generation, and system notifications.
  • Develop and manage Client Scripts, UI Policies, and Script Includes to ensure dynamic and responsive catalog item behavior.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, process owners, and mission stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
  • Ensure a seamless, intuitive, and accessible user experience within the ServiceNow Service Portal.
  • Perform robust unit testing, troubleshoot defects, and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) prior to production deployment.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.

 Skills:

  • Create, configure, and maintain Service Catalog items, Record Producers, Order Guides, and Variable Sets (including Multi-Row Variable Sets - MRVS)
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
  • Deep understanding of ServiceNow platform scripting (Client Scripts, Business Rules, Script Includes)
  • Experience utilizing Workflow Editor, Flow Designer, core ITSM modules, and Service Portal configuration tools to drive fulfillment tasks, approvals, and SLAs.
  • Develop Catalog Client Scripts, Catalog UI Policies, and UI Actions to enhance user experience on the Service Portal
  • Connect catalog requests to external systems using REST/SOAP APIs
  • Ensure code quality by adhering to ServiceNow best practices for reusability, performance, and maintainability.
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications: 

  • BA/BS degree with 8 yrs of experience; MA/MS degree with 6 years of experience. 
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Public Trust Clearance/ or ability to obtain one
  • Primary work locations in San Antonio, TX, and Falls Church, VA. Remote work may be considered in special cases when approved by the customer
  • Minimum 6+ years of overall experience in service catalog development using ServiceNow
  • Current active IAT II certification (Security+) to comply with DoD 8570 and DoD 8140.03 requirements
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) or CIS-ITSM
  • Experience working within Military Health environments
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow (MHSSHD) ITSM ticketing system

Target Salary Range: $112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
