SITEC - UC Administrator - Stuttgart

Peraton requires UC Administrators to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) – 3.  This position is located in Stuttgart, Germany (SOCAFRICA) and requires TESA approval. 

The purpose of the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order (TO) is to provide USSOCOM, its Component Commands, its Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), and its deployed forces with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to maintain Network Operations (NetOps); maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end user and common device support; provide configuration, change, license, and asset management; conduct training, and perform Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services. The responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement play a pivotal role to USSOCOM, the CIO/J6 organization, and ultimately the end-user who operate around the globe 24x7x365.

UC Administrators performs tier one and two voice and video support in accordance with the SIE OPORD.  UC Administrators need a detailed understanding of telecommunications theory and practice.  UC Administrators should have solid technical skills, as well as interpersonal and organizational abilities.  UC Administrators must be skilled at managing endpoints at scale, utilizing industry- and vendor-standard tools.  This position will be responsible for VoIP, VTC, IPTV, and Application-based endpoints, supporting and training the users who utilize them, and providing first-line support to several collaborative workspace Audio/Visual systems that integrate those endpoints.  The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of UC and networking principles to rapidly and thoroughly troubleshoot and restore system or device failures.  UC Administrators must be able to explain and present complex technical subjects and processes related to the UC discipline, as well as generating and delivering reports and presentations of the highest professional quality.  Experience working with the specific hardware used in the Government’s UC system is highly valued.

Duties include but are not limited to: 

• Administering the operation of SOCOM Unified Communications systems and services according to Government policies and procedures
• Maintaining digital awareness of all UC endpoints within the organization’s digital boundary, utilizing Cisco CallManager and other provided reporting capabilities. Endpoints include VoIP, VTC, Software (e.g. Jabber, Teams), and IPTV
• Collaborating effectively with the Enterprise UC workforce, leveraging them for escalation, technical oversight, and confirmation of Enterprise standards
• Developing and maintaining awareness of approved Enterprise endpoint hardware, supporting planning for new requirements, lifecycle management, and device standardization
• Recommending upgrade, modernization, improvement, and optimization initiatives, in coordination with Asset and Configuration Managers
• Receiving, configuring, installing, and integrating UC endpoints into typical conference room systems
• Troubleshooting Crestron-based conference room and operations center audio/visual suites, managing escalation to Government integrator when necessary
• Troubleshooting and resolving performance degradations, and optimizes device configuration for best performance and customer satisfaction
• Coordinating and implementing UC endpoint firmware upgrades and security-specific configuration items to meet standardization and compliance requirements
• Facilitating and moderating VTC events attended or chaired by the SOCAFRICA Commander, including through coordination with adjacent unit VTC teams
• Using a variety of tools to monitor and troubleshoot the performance of UC environments, proactively responding to observed degradations, and recommending improvements to quality and reliability
• Documenting and maintaining UC topologies as requested
• Resolving ticket-based incidents, and escalating to the engineering team when required
• Fulfilling typical UC-related service requests, including modifying endpoint features, voicemail, speed dials, hunt groups, pickup groups, alias changes, etc
• Managing Cisco Jabber contacts and groups to enable collaboration and communication. This involves creating contact lists, adding contacts, and setting up groups
• Staying up to date with Office 365 and Cisco Jabber updates and new features and evaluate how they may impact SOCAFRICA

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 10 years with AS/AA; 8 years with BS/BA; 6 years with MS/MA; 3 years with PhD
• 12 years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of formal education
• DoD TS/SCI clearance is required for this role
• Must be DoW 8140 compliant under the Work Role Code 441 – Network Operations Specialist - Intermediate level or higher
• CCNA Certification

• Crestron-based multi-classification audio/visual suites, controllers, and components
