Program Overview
Provide critical communications and tracking for multiple spacecraft from three complexes located globally, and operates year round 24 hours/7days to provide continuous contact with the spacecraft. The program fulfills NASA goals by supporting NASA deep space mission set, including NASA-funded missions and collaborative international missions.
About The Role
We are seeking a Space Operations Controller to join our team at the Fort Irwin Complex in California to support our Space Communications Network Services (DSN) Contract with NASA. The selected individual will operate, adjust, and test station tracking and support equipment at Goldstone Deep Space Communications Complex (GDSCC).
Responsibilities
- Perform adjustments, and tests for pre-mission setup, and equipment operation verification
- Perform Level 1 maintenance tasks for station tracking systems
- Complete station operations paperwork and maintains required records
- Assist in the application of all station programs and procedures
- Train to perform as a Lead Space Operations Controller (LSOC) on console
- When qualified, perform on console under the direction of a more experienced controller and work independently
- Must be able to take direction, and respond to events rapidly in a real time environment
- Report to the Shift Supervisor (SOD) and functions independently during spacecraft supports or as directed by the SOD

- Clearance – must be able to obtain a trusted background check and pass a National Criminal Information Check (NCIC).

Target Salary Range: The rate / range per hour below represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
