About The Role

Peraton is currently seeking to hire for the following Systems Engineering and Systems Administration roles with its' Regional Cyber Center-Europe program. 

 

Location: On-site, Wiesbaden, Germany

 

Potentially 2nd/3rd Shift work 

 

Senior Systems Engineer (Operating Systems)

Responsibilities:

    • Administer and maintain Windows Server infrastructure across multiple RCC-E enclaves (NIPR/SIPR), including server builds, role configuration, performance tuning, and lifecycle management in accordance with Army IT standards
    • Manage Active Directory and Group Policy infrastructure, including domain controller administration, GPO design and enforcement, OU structure management, and integration with enterprise identity and access management systems
    • Administer Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) for software deployment, OS imaging, patch management, and hardware/software inventory across the enterprise Windows environment
    • Implement and track IAVA patch compliance and STIG remediation across all managed Windows systems, coordinating with the ISSM/ISSO to maintain ATO status and support continuous monitoring requirements
    • Manage Hyper-V virtualization infrastructure including VM provisioning, live migration, failover clustering, and capacity planning to support enterprise application hosting and disaster recovery objectives
    • Develop and maintain RMF documentation and system security artifacts, including SSPs, hardware/software baselines, and POA&Ms, ensuring all Windows systems maintain current authorization status

Senior Systems Administrator (Windows) / Systems Administrator (Windows): 

Responsibilities:

    • Administer and maintain Windows Server infrastructure across multiple RCC-E enclaves (NIPR/SIPR), including server builds, role configuration, performance tuning, and lifecycle management in accordance with Army IT standards

Senior Systems Administrator (UNIX/Linux) / Systems Administrator (UNIX/Linux): 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) server infrastructure across multiple RCC-E enclaves, performing system builds, configuration management, performance tuning, and lifecycle administration in support of enterprise cyber defense services
  • Configure and sustain defensive cyber service platforms hosted on Linux infrastructure, including network sensors, log aggregation systems, and security analytics tools supporting RCC-E’s CSSP-D mission
  • Administer identity and authentication management systems using RedHat Identity Management (IdM) and Keycloak, managing user accounts, Kerberos/LDAP integration, and role-based access controls across the enterprise
  • Implement and maintain STIG compliance and RMF documentation for all managed UNIX/Linux systems, conducting regular SCAP scans, remediating findings, and supporting ATO maintenance activities in coordination with the ISSM/ISSO
  • Deploy and manage containerized applications using Podman and Kubernetes/OpenShift, supporting the development and operations of cyber tools and enterprise services in a hardened, DoD-compliant container environment
  • Support data center operations including server rack management, storage integration, backup/recovery procedures, and coordination with facilities personnel to ensure physical and environmental security of hosted systems
Qualifications

Required:

 

For All of them: 

  • Must meet TESA Qualifications (one of the following):
    • Bachelor’s degree (STEM/Business Admin) + 3 years specialized experience; OR
    • Associate’s degree + 7 years specialized experience; OR
    • Major certification + 7 years specialized experience; OR
    • 11 years of experience (no degree)
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Active DoD SECRET clearance or higher

For the OS role: 

  • Demonstrated experience in UNIX/Linux systems administration with a Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field or Business Administration; 4 additional years experience may substitute for degree
  • Certifications — must hold active certifications (one of the following):
  • UNIX Certified Administrator
  • RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer)
  • RHCSA (Red Hat Certified System Administrator)
  • RHCA (Red Hat Certified Architect)
  • 4+ years UNIX Server OS administration; 2 years HP-UX, Solaris, or similar enterprise UNIX platforms; 2 years U.S. military command and control or commercial LAN/WAN systems experience

For the Windows roles: 

  • Windows: 4+ years of Microsoft Server OS experience. 
  • DoD 8140 - IT (System Administrator) - Advanced
  • Certifications — must hold one active certification (one of the following):
    • MCSA (2012 or 2016); OR
    • Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate; OR
    • Microsoft 365 Certified: Azure Administrator Associate; OR
    • Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert; OR
    • Microsoft 365 Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate; OR
    • Azure Solutions Architect Expert; OR
    • Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator
  • 2 years of experience with Microsoft Server products; 2 years with U.S. military C2 or commercial LAN/WAN systems

For the UNIX/Linux roles: 

  • 4+ years of UNIX/RedHat Server OS experience with a Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field or Business Administration; additional experience may substitute for degree
  • TESA Qualification (one of the following):
  • Bachelor’s degree (STEM/Business Admin) + 3 years specialized experience; OR
  • Associate’s degree + 7 years specialized experience; OR
  • Major certification + 7 years specialized experience; OR
  • 11 years of experience (no degree)

Details

Target Salary Range: $104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
