Program Overview
About The Role

Peraton is seeking an on-site Systems Administrator to support the DOE Office of Science on the CBOSS 2.0 contract, operating and maintaining on-premises, cloud-based, and hybrid infrastructure with a focus on service availability, performance, and security.  Responsibilities include:

  • Operate and monitor physical and cloud-based infrastructure, including compute, storage, virtualization, and application platforms.
  • Provide operational support for back and restore processes in line with OIM’s Recovery Time
  • Objectives (RTOs) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPOs).
  • Monitor cloud security configurations and provide recommendations for corrective action when needed.
  • Detect and resolve bottlenecks and outages in a timely manner based on priority and SLAs.
  • Track and report on capacity utilization, resource consumption (e.g., Azure cost usage), proactive scaling recommendations.
  • Maintain and post records such as maintenance logs, preventive maintenance plans, backup validation history, and asset inventories.
  • Maintain and update the CMDB to ensure accurate tracking of CIs and dependencies.
  • Submit all changes for review and approval.
  • Perform and document system, application, and infrastructure patching in accordance with OIM policy.
Qualifications
  • 5 years with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA; 0 years with PhD
  • CompTIA Network +, Cisco CCNA or higher, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or relevant certifications in firewalls or endpoint platforms strongly preferred 
  • Must be proficient in PowerShell, Azure CLI, and automation tools applicable to infrastructure management.
  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a DOE clearance

Details

Target Salary Range: $86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
