About The Role
Peraton is looking to hire an Application System Architect in the Washington DC Metro area. This role will be a remote position. At times, the role will also require travel to the Quantico client site when necessary.
What you'll do:
- Lead Agile development teams in delivering complex software solutions and enterprise capabilities.
- Define system architecture, core design principles, and technical frameworks while ensuring alignment with enterprise requirements.
- Develop engineering strategies for integrating emerging technologies into customer environments and business processes.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses to evaluate software, hardware, and process solutions.
- Design, integrate, and optimize enterprise systems, addressing interoperability, scalability, and multi-platform challenges.
- Serve as the primary technical liaison between customers, Product Owners, Scrum Teams, and stakeholders.
- Support backlog management, requirements development, feature prioritization, Sprint planning, reviews, and Program Increment (PI) planning activities.
- Collaborate across teams, vendors, Agile Release Trains (ARTs), and functional organizations to ensure successful delivery and releases.
- Support DevOps, CI/CD, and modern software development practices throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and oversight to development teams.
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement software tools, frameworks, and technologies.
- Develop technical documentation, executive briefings, status reports, and presentations for senior government and program leadership.
- Maintain project artifacts and user stories in Jira and Confluence.
- Support Enterprise Architecture teams, Release Train Engineers (RTEs), and senior leadership in achieving program objectives.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Education: 8 years with BS/BA, 6 years with MS/MA, 3 years with PhD or 12 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
- Active DoD Secret Clearance.
- Must be local to the Washington, D.C. area.
- Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies, SAFe, Kanban, Waterfall, SDLC processes, enterprise architecture, and project management frameworks.
- Experience leading technical teams and collaborating with customers, partners, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Experience with software development (Java preferred), full-stack development, and modern web technologies including React, Angular, Vue.js, JavaScript, and CSS.
- Experience working with structured and unstructured data, databases, and enterprise storage solutions.
- Experience with AWS cloud services (S3, EC2, ECS, etc.); AWS Solutions Architect certification preferred.
- Experience with DevOps and CI/CD tools such as GitLab, GitHub, Jira, Confluence, Artifactory, Jenkins, Zephyr, Docker, PostgreSQL, and ServiceNow.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and customer support skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present technical information to executive and government stakeholders.
- SAFe certification and DoD 8570 certification (Security+ or CISSP) preferred, or ability to obtain.
Details
Target Salary Range: $112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
