Program Overview
Cybersecurity experts, Scrum and Agile professionals and engineers (systems, software, network, and cloud reliability) design and sustain cloud infrastructure to host spacecraft command and control systems. Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Antenna as a Service (AaaS), Data as a Service (DaaS), and an active Admin Wide Area Network (AWAN) team are provided.
About The Role

Peraton is seeking a Information Assurance Security Engineer in Chantilly, VA to support our Department of Defense customer as part of a highly talented, highly motivated and high-performing team. As part of the functional engineering team, you will support a fast-paced program which involves design, development, test, and deployment of an exciting and complex cloud infrastructure system in an Agile construct to contribute to mission success for a variety of stakeholders.  Join us and be part of the next generation of innovators as we blaze a trail forward for our profession and company. 

 

What you’ll do: 

  • Provide cyber technical expertise in the maintenance, support, and enhancement of the IT security framework, network infrastructure, software applications/tools, operational processes, and control documentation for a private cloud-based environment 
  • Support the development and implementation of security requirements and conduct security activities supporting coding, testing, installation, certification, and deployment for cloud-based and ground-based environments, including migration of customer systems to the cloud environment
  • Support development and maintenance of program System Security Plan (SSP) and other applicable documentation in accordance with Risk Management Framework (RMF) 
  • Provide Information Assurance (IA) support to maintain security authorization documentation supporting system and service Authorizations to Operate (ATOs)
  • Secure system configurations according to DISA STIGs, install security tools, scan systems, and report results in compliance with customer security governance  
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments, support continuous monitoring of system assets, and recommend risk mitigation strategies
  • Support security planning, execution, report of findings, and resolution of findings for, and during system testing 
  • Support IA technical discussions and provide security recommendations to internal program management and the government customer on program IA matters
  • Demonstrate working technical proficiency in Linux and Windows virtualized environments from a systems administration and engineering perspective
Qualifications

Required Qualifications: 

  • This position requires the candidate to possess a minimum of a Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI. The candidate must maintain the clearance.
  • Associate's degree and 7+ years of experience in a related field; or bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience in a related field; or a master's degree and 3+ years of experience in a related field. Four (4) years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
  • You meet applicable Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140.03 qualification requirements for the assigned cybersecurity work role at the Intermediate proficiency level through qualifying education, training, experience, or an approved cybersecurity certification
  • You have hands-on experience with Linux and Windows systems administration and engineering, including the Linux command line and Windows PowerShell
  • You have experience and are familiar with NIST 800-53, ICD-503, CNSSI 1253, and DoD Joint Special Access Program Implementation Guide (JSIG) 
  • You have experience in risk management, requirements analysis, design, test, and certification 
  • Experience in vulnerability analysis / management and threat assessments to evaluate and mitigate risks to an IT infrastructure 
  • You have experience with, or working knowledge of, enterprise security technologies such as DoD Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Tenable Security Center, Splunk, LDAP, and TLS

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Understanding of OpenStack cloud computing, Kubernetes orchestration, Ansible Automation, and networking concepts and protocols 
  • You can express yourself confidently, concisely, and accurately through written and oral communications 
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with management, customers, and tenants within the enterprise 
  • You are detail and process oriented, can manage multiple tasks, can work independently with general direction, and can collaborate effectively as part of a team

Target Salary Range: $86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
