About The Role

 

Peraton is seeking an DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team onsite in Annapolis Junction. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable infrastructure solutions using Terraform, ensuring efficient deployment and management of resources across various cloud environments. A deep understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and practices is essential for this role.

While your primary focus will be on Ansible to automate configuration management, manage application deployments, and streamline pipelines, we also value a strong working knowledge of CI/CD and artifact management tools such as GitLab and Nexus. You will collaborate closely with development, operations, and security teams to enhance system reliability, scalability, and performance. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about automation and DevSecOps to make a meaningful impact within a fast-paced, evolving environment.

 

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage complex automation workflows and configuration management architectures primarily using Ansible.
  • Manage and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, ensuring secure, efficient, and continuous integration and delivery of software.
  • Administer and maintain software artifact repositories utilizing Nexus to support secure release management.
  • Integrate Ansible automation with GitLab and Nexus to create seamless, end-to-end automated deployments across cloud and on-prem environments.
  • Automate application deployments, patching, and post-provisioning tasks to ensure repeatable, scalable, and secure release processes.
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to support DevSecOps initiatives and streamline deployment processes.
  • Monitor enterprise environments, perform regular automated maintenance, and troubleshoot deployment or configuration issues as they arise.
  • Leverage Ansible playbooks to implement and enforce best practices for environment security, compliance, and automated risk management.
  • Conduct ongoing security testing, peer code reviews for automation scripts, and collaborate on identifying and mitigating system vulnerabilities.
  • Contribute to architectural designs, maintain technical documentation for automated workflows, and provide cross-functional teams with scalable engineering solutions.
  • Stay current with new tools, technologies, and industry best practices, and advise teams on secure automation practices.
Qualifications
  • Requires Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD; 4 years of additional experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Top Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility Required; Active SCI preferred
  • Must have experience in DevOps engineering, configuration management, and integration of Commercial Off-the-Shelf software products.
  • Must have a current DoD 8570.1-M IAT Level III certification.

 

Details

Target Salary Range: $135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
