Program Overview
About The Role

Peraton is seeking a talented and creative Graphic Designer to join its award-winning Corporate Communications and Marketing team in Reston, VA. This role plays a key part in bringing Peraton’s story to life through compelling visual design across digital and print platforms.

The ideal candidate is a strong visual communicator with a sharp design eye, deep understanding of branding and layout, and the ability to translate complex ideas into clear, engaging visuals. While design is the primary focus, this role also supports broader multimedia initiatives, including motion graphics and visual storytelling content.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design high-quality digital and print graphics for campaigns, presentations, events, and branded collateral.
  • Develop visual assets for web, social media, email, infographics, signage, and internal communications, ensuring consistent application of Peraton’s visual identity.
  • Collaborate with marketing, communications, and creative teams to translate concepts into visually compelling designs that support business objectives.
  • Create templates, layouts, mockups, and design systems that enable scalable and consistent visual storytelling.
  • Apply strong typography, composition, and brand standards to deliver polished, on-brand creative under deadline.
  • Support motion graphics and multimedia initiatives as needed, including basic animation or visual enhancements for video content.
  • Ensure all visual materials align with established brand standards and messaging guidelines.
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining digital design assets and templates to support team efficiency and consistency.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 years of professional experience in graphic design within a corporate, agency, or communications environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Marketing, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign; familiarity with After Effects or motion graphics tools is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of typography, layout, branding, and visual hierarchy principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality design work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to incorporate feedback and work effectively across teams.

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience creating design assets for digital marketing and social media campaigns.
  • Familiarity with motion graphics, animation, or video production workflows.
  • Understanding of accessibility and responsive design best practices.
SCA / Union / Intern Rate or Range

Details

Target Salary Range: $66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
