Program Overview
Provide warfighters with reliable strike planning and execution tools for Theater Missile Programs while modernizing and expanding beyond Tomahawk missiles. Our work includes developing and maintaining proprietary software, offering full lifecycle support from design to deployment, and ensuring compliance with cybersecurity standards.
About The Role

Peraton is seeking a software tester who will work as part of the Information Assurance (IA) team on the Theater Mission Planning Center (TMPC) program, part of the Navy's Tomahawk Missile program. You will be part of a motivated team that is responsible for securing the system environment of a large, complex system for multiple hardware configurations and multiple releases. The position is located in Santa Clara, CA.

 

Your role will be work with the IA team and test the security updates that address emerging cybersecurity requirements. This includes verifying environment/security changes and running vulnerability scan tools for multiple TMPC releases in a development/test environment prior to the security media being released for installation on TMPC systems and delivery to the customer. Testing covers monthly and quarterly updates, with an occasional one-off system checkout.

 

What you'll do:

  • Develop and execute tests following team/project conventions to verify system environment changes meet the cybersecurity requirements for multiple releases (e.g., TMPC 7.0.5, TMPC 8.0)
  • Run vulnerability scan tools and report the results per team/project conventions
  • Verify updates to the written Security Procedures
  • Report test findings and document new errors per team/project conventions
  • Write test reports for delivery to the customer
  • Understand TMPC hardware configurations and the applications/capabilities for each configuration the TMPC release
  • Understand the current IA requirements for each of the TMPC configurations and releases
  • Provide or validate estimates for assigned tasks
  • Follow program processes and procedures
  • Contribute to the evolution of the tests and test approach (e.g., improving effectiveness, test automation)
  • Contribute to the evolution of the team/project standards and conventions
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, daily stand-up)
Qualifications
  • 9 years with HS, 7 years with AS, 5 years with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA
  • Clearance: must be a US citizen and have an active SECRET clearance or the ability to obtain one
  • 3 years manual testing experience
  • An understanding of IA concepts
  • Robust IT skills, including experience working with a virtualized environment, Microsoft Windows, and RedHat Linux
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, with experience isolating problems in a complex system environment
  • Strong analytical skills and writing skills
  • Knowledge of PowerShell scripting
  • Ability to follow procedures and work within a collaborative team environment
  • Initiative, adaptability, attention to detail, and ability to learn new technologies
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools, including Azure DevOps

Target Salary Range: $86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
