About The Role

Peraton is hiring a Senior Infrastructure Services Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to join our Cyber Mission business unit in Fort Meade, Maryland. As an ISSO on our team, you will support one of the largest enterprise-wide engineering contracts within the Intelligence Community. This is a full-time position requiring 1880 hours of support per year; and work is performed at the customer site.

 

As a senior ISSO on our team you will be responsible for supporting the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process, maintaining System Security Plans (SSPs), and managing Plans of Action & Milestones (POA&Ms) to ensure system Authorization to Operate (ATO). You will conduct continuous monitoring, review audit logs, assess vulnerabilities, and coordinate incident response activities.

 

This role serves as the primary security liaison between system owners, the ISSM, and the Authorizing Official, ensuring all systems remain compliant with applicable NIST, DoD, and IC security directives. You will also oversee user access controls, support configuration management, and ensure all security documentation is current and accurate in eMASS or equivalent tools. #MDFSP #AJCM

Qualifications

Individual Capabilities/Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university and fifteen (15) years of experience are required. Four (4) years of additional experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree for a total of nineteen (19 years) years of experience.
    • Experience is to include at least three (3) of the following areas: knowledge of current security tools, hardware/software security implementation; communication protocols; and encryption techniques or tools.  DoD 8570 compliance with Information Assurance Management (IAM) Level I or higher is required.
  • Position requires TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.

To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below: 

  • Must have experience supporting NISCAP and DIACAP processes.
  • Served as the approval authority for Information Systems.
  • Experience as an ISSM.
  • Experience planning and coordinating IT Security Programs and Policies
  • Knowledgeable of customer compliance and risk regulations
  • Experience building SSPs
  • Proven ability to complete System Certification and Accreditation
  • Experience with vulnerability and risk assessment analysis, and development of security protocols
  • Must have familiarization with customer infrastructure.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule.

Desired qualifications include:

  • Experience with – H/W inventory and change log updates; System personnel & change log updates for Security Relevant Changes (SRC); STE/STN Activities; System Owner updates;
  • XACTA experience – S/W inventory; System records updates; Notice review; SSP Reviews/Reauthorization/Publish; Contingency planning/testing; Scan Review; POA&M reviews

Target Salary Range: $176,000 - $282,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
